Why the Cigar Family Foundation is so important to us
At Great O Legacy Distribution, we are proud to represent Arturo Fuente Switzerland—a brand whose legacy extends far beyond cigar manufacturing. The Cigar Family Charitable Foundation (CFCF) is the most eloquent proof of this.
Founded jointly by the Fuente and Newman families, the CFCF is transforming lives in the mountainous region of Bonao, the very place where the leaves used in some of the world’s most iconic cigars are grown.

Education
A primary school and a high school serve more than 450 students, all of whom receive full support. The result: the highest average score in the region for four consecutive years.

The story
A vision born of two families
CFCF was born out of a desire to give back. The Fuente and Newman families, partners in the cigar business for decades, wanted to give back to the land and the people who made their success possible.
What was supposed to be a simple school wing has grown into a 23-hectare campus: schools, a clinic, an organic farm, and a sports field—a comprehensive infrastructure that has transformed the mountainous region of Bonao.

The annual event
Toast Across America
Every fall since 2003, the foundation has organized Toast Across America: an annual fundraiser featuring limited-edition Fuente cigars created specifically for the event.
All over the world, enthusiasts and collectors share a special moment over an exceptional cigar—and directly support the children of Bonao. A tradition that combines a passion for cigars with a sincere commitment to helping others.
